We are Becki and Andy – a couple from Wisconsin that love our state, and love to travel.
We’re just your ordinary, average Midwestern couple with a strong case of the wanderlust. Like so many people these days, we met online (thank you Plenty of Fish for being both cheap and effective, two of my favorite things ;) and after a flurry of emails and phone calls, we decided to meet up, and the rest is history.
It turns out one of the biggest things we have in common is our love of traveling. Whether it’s by car or airplane, bus, boat or train – as long as we’re going somewhere new and exciting, we’re happy. But sometimes, traveling isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, is it? In general we love it, but every once in a while… *shakes fist*
Since you found your way here, you might be interested in more posts where things didn’t end up being all they were cracked up to be. Case in point:
But of course, it’s not all doom and gloom! Here’s a couple of posts from when traveling takes your breath away with it’s magic and beauty:
And if you’re thinking to yourselves, “Holy shit-snacks, I really need to get out there and seem some stuff! How do I start saving money and traveling on the cheap?” you’re in luck! We’ve got a few posts for that too!

- And of course our podcast will help teach you how to get out there yourself!
We want to inspire you to get out into the world, to see it with your own eyes, feel it with your own hands, and even smell it with your own nose. Why? Because travel is an education. It will, at the same time, teach you about everyone else around the planet, and about yourself.

Becki
I have always loved traveling, pretty much all of it was by backseat of a car, but hey, it’s still going somewhere, right? I’ve been pretty much all over the Midwest and down South, but now after meeting and being with Andy the traveling bug has bit me even harder.
I want to know what it is like to work a vineyard in Argentina, or milk a goat in Kanpur India, or feel the calmness of a Buddhist temple in Tibet. And lately, I want to say “I’ve been to Antarctica!”
Strengths
- Eagle eyes (seriously, Becki should be working as an game tracker in Kenya – Andy)
- Photographic skillz
- Affinity for Tequila
Weaknesses
- Likes to have a plan (that might be a strength? -Andy)
- Mexican babies and tacos*
- Affinity for Tequila

- Truly afraid of heights (nearly had a coronary on the ski-lift at Keystone, CO)
- Would adopt every stray animal she’s ever seen and would proudly wear the hat of “Crazy cat/dog/snake/emu lady”
- Is a self-proclaimed “momma’s girl” (love you with all my heart Mom! -Becki)

Andy
The travel bug bit me in High School – it was my first plane trip and my first real trip outside of the country. I consider myself extremely lucky to have spent 16 days going all over the beautiful country of Italy.
Since then I’ve taken plenty of adventurous trips all over the world, almost all of them solo. I used to be a one-man wolf pack, but when I met Becki, I knew she was one of my own. And my wolfpack…it grew by one. Love you babe!
Strengths
- Thinks he’s good at writing
- Diving into complicated situations with confidence
- Affinity for beer
Weaknesses
- Delicious food
- Bad at multitasking
- Affinity for beer
Trivia About Andy
- Cut his hand hopping a barbed-wire fence to pee in a field in Umbria, Italy
- Pee’d his swimsuit on a boat ride in Trinidad
- Pee’d all over himself during a turbulent plane ride
- Thinks bathroom humor is hilarious (what kind of grown man still does the potty dance anyways? -Becki)
